Fender Telecaster Custom Blonde 1973
Fender Telecaster Custom Blonde 1973
TL:DR All original besides replaced pots and pickup switch. No repairs or issues of any kind. Absolute beast.
I present to you an all time classic, and recently, the extremely popular Fender Telecaster Custom from 1973 in a rare transparent blonde finish. This piece is almost all original with the exception of the pots and selector switch. Its got tons of real play wear giving it so much character but absolutely no buckle rash, just look at that real forearm wear. These are the best kinds of guitar that have been loved and played to death over the years, practically morphing the neck shape to the palm of the hand, yet have no problems and retained their originality. Theres alot of good things to say about these. Lets start with the Beautiful open grained solid ash body that has dehydrated over time and rings like a bell.
Its really not too heavy at 9 lbs 7 oz and it rings like a bell. Lathered in a Transparent Blonde Nitrocellulose finish this piece really pops at at you with its awesome grains and aged look and feel. The horizontal lacquer checking is unbelievable, subtle, and provides the perfect aged look and feel. Atop this sits the 100% original nickel saddled bridge, 1 Wide range Humbucker designed to sound completely unique with "CuNiFe" pole pieces (Copper/Nickel/Ferrite) and have a real interesting sound. Sports a fat original tele bridge which is a single coil sized humbucker. The neck pickup is smooth and dark mid range, with articulate treble and warm and boomy low end. The bridge pickup is extremely bright and snappy and articulate, it cuts through any mix and has an electric and aggressive tone. Combined with the dehydrated and resonant ash, you can really get a variety of tones and they all sounds so amazing and really ever gets old. Overall, this thing is a monster that has the scars to prove it, yet retained its originality and its age contributes to its beautiful look and sound. Thanks for looking
When you pick the guitar the first thing you notice is this super solid one piece maple neck that has a very nice slimmer side of medium "C" Shape with not too much shoulder starting at 0.82" at the 1st and slowly filling out to 0.89" by the 12th. This really allows you to "tame" the neck and wrap your thumb over and is super comfy, some of my favorite necks are around this range. The Maple neck really adds an open, snappy, bass and treble boost to the tone, and each note is extremely punchy and articulate. the frets are on the lower side but are dead straight and have some life left in them, they are original and you can observe the poly finish surrounding them. And the aged nitro headstock face is just a hair darker than the rest of the poly finished neck which is extremely smooth. Combined with our perfect fretwork this piece is a dream to play and sounds as good as it looks. Thank you for looking!
This piece has been fully setup with our "Gilded Treatment." This means instrument has been fully inspected, professionally photographed and documented along will a full deep cleaning of any residual grime and dust, pots are cleaned of debris and sprayed with contact cleaner to add a layer of cleaning and protection. Its amazing how clean pots and contacts bring so much tone back. Polished frets to allow you to "glide" over the fretboard. Dialed Nut Height with optimal slots and contact points with lubrication. Action and intonation is dead on and neck relief is perfect. The neck has absolutely no warps or humps and the truss rod turns perfectly with tons of room to turn for seasonal changes. Thank you for looking
You'll be shocked to find how good our pro setup is! A 100$ value free! big bends fretting out is a thing of the past, find out for yourself!
Condition: Replaced pots, caps, and selector switch. Everything else is original including the pickups, frets, nut, and input jack. This piece has obviously been played and loved and has the most beautiful lacquer checking on the nitrocellulose top coat. There are scattered dings around the body and extremely tasteful forearm wear. Nothing here affects playability and is all cosmetic. The neck has wear on the edges of the fretboard but the back of the neck is flawless. The headstock face has aged faster than the rest of the neck due to being completely nitrocellulose compared to the rest of the neck which is poly. The tuners turn perfectly and the electronics are flawless. This thing is a machine with the battle scars to prove it. Neck code is 0703 3333. The 07 is the telecaster custom code, 03 is the maple neck. 33 is the week number, 3 is the year, and the last 3 is third day of the week. So this neck was made on the 3rd day of the 33rd week of 1973.
Electronics: Pots were replaced to 250k pots and orange caps. The selector switch was also replaced, the rest of the wires, pickups and input jack are original. There are no issues of any sort, no crackling or grounding problems, everything works as fender intended.
