TL:DR All original except Tuners swapped to 70's vintage Schallers. Neck Reset and Perfect Refret, Playability is off the charts!

Introducing the secret Gibson ES-150D, although lesser known than its counter part, the ES-335, this wooden warrior has much to offer. Immediately you notice its familiar double venetian cutaway shape but this time with a 3-inch deep full body guitar that is ever so warm and resonant. Theres 2 parallel tone bars underneath and a mahogany block under the bridge for less feedback and more sustain. The powerful body is composed of a laminated maple top, back and sides, sporting a 3D maple figuring that moves as the light hits it. Finished off by a delectable Walnut finish that has that ever so close Nitrocellulose feeling that old Gibsons just do so well. The half-century-old wood has an articulate warmth to it that is precise and full of mid-range, accentuated by an all original set of electronics, 2 pat. sticker pickups and original pots connected by a big fat black beauty capacitor. These pickups are precise and articulate, the sound of the 70's. You can hear it immediately at how responsive and dynamic the sound is, its got a full breadth and tonal range that really emphasized all the harmonics of the gorgeous maple body.  The Neck pickup as wide open and smooth, while the bridge pickups is truly versatile, tone all the way up for that thrashy t-top crackle or tone down for a smooth and warm yet punchy articulation.

This instrument plays like a beast. Its smooth as butter and has unbelievably low action Due in part to the perfect refret and perfect neck angle (neck reset). The Ultra slim 3-piece Mahogany neck is strong, rock solid, and has a played in familiar feel thats been basically morphed to the hand from time. The super ergonomic thin nut-width is right at home with small handed players , any easy to tame neck thats got an very slim 60's taper to it starting at 0.76" at the 1st and tapering to 0.93" at the 12th, this is my personal style of neck thats really easy to control and wrap that thumb over. Milled on top of this neck is a tightly grained east indian rosewood fretboard thats hydrated and smooth. The surrounding white binding has aged to a perfect cream. The fretboard has been rather perfectly refretted with appropriate vintage fretwire that has tons of meet and almost no evidence of such. On top of this, the perfect neck angle has been achieve with a neck reset that every deep hollow-body eventually needs from ever changing environments. Now this piece can play as well as it looks now that everything is straight as an arrow. You will be delighted playing this piece for the first time, its extremely easy and familiar and plays like butter. Thank you for looking.

This piece has been fully setup with our "Gilded Treatment." This means instrument has been fully inspected, professionally photographed and documented along will a full deep cleaning of any residual grime and dust, pots are cleaned of debris and sprayed with contact cleaner to add a layer of cleaning and protection. Its amazing how clean pots and contacts bring so much tone back. Polished frets to allow you to "glide" over the fretboard. Dialed Nut Height with optimal slots and contact points with lubrication. Action and intonation is dead on and neck relief is perfect. The neck has absolutely no warps or humps and the truss rod turns perfectly with tons of room to turn for seasonal changes. Thank you for looking

You'll be shocked to find how good our pro setup is! A 100$ value free! big bends fretting out is a thing of the past, find out for yourself!

Condition: Absolutely No breaks of any kind. All original Gibson -150dc except tuners replaced with vintage 70's schallers that are very smooth and have a high gear ratio for fine tuning. The Body is essentially mint and the neck has light playwear that is not "feelable". The top of the peghead has some visible wear that is very common for the top of a 50+ year old instrument. Perfect playability. Awesome Refret and Neck was reset, just a little bit too much wood was sanded off leaving small gap in the joint. No further action required as there’s no effect in playability, the neck angle is perfect and the joint itself is solid as a Rock. But if that cosmetic separation offends you, removing the neck and grafting on new wood is the correct solution. Otherwise it’s all there and it plays like a dream, and will continue to for decades to come!

Electronics: All original, untouched solder joints. Pat.Sticker pickups. Pots date to the 30th week of 1972.
