TL:DR

Easily the cleanest Black Beauty that you will ever see from 72'. No cracks/issues/repairs. All original besides the pots which are from 1975 and potentially the knobs were switched in 1975. This is an unbelievable piece both as a player as well as an investment. The Guitar sports an absolutely pristine top with virtually all of the gold plating still remaining on the hardware. The pancake body has two pieces of solid mahogany with a slice of maple in between.  The Binding around the instrument is perfect and has began to age beautifully into an olympic white along with the rest of the plastic. This is the Rolls Royce of Gibsons with its split diamond headstock, gold on black hardware, and Mother of pearl inlays. The Neck is a comfortable 60's slim taper which allows full control of chord shapes in the beginning (0.81") and fills out nicely as you move up to the 12th (1.04"). The transitional tenon is seen in the neck pocket where the smooth and silky neck pickup lives. The truss rod in the neck has barely ever been turned and functions perfectly. The neck can bend into an upbow or backbow and has no problem staying straight. The guitar has been setup with perfect action across the dead leveled frets. The intonation is spot on and there is no unwanted buzzing. The Nut height has been perfectly slotted to allow easy action at the first few frets. Setup with a fresh of 10-46's you can expect this baby to play better than it looks. Thank you for looking.

Condition: Excellent condition with only one small ding and a little scratch on the back and a few smaller dings around that are all pictured. Top is pristine. Plastic ring around neck pickup, plastic truss rod cover, and plastic input jack cover have undergone some normal cracking but have been reglued together and corrected. Knobs are 70's gibson reflector knobs but technically should be witch hats so we believe they were swapped a long time ago. Zero buckle rash, no cracks or issues. Neck is straight and truss rod turns. Frets are completely level and 80% life left. Replaced nut a long time ago ad binding is in great shape. Instrument blacklights 100% perfectly, no refinishing or over spray or previous repairs. Over all this looks to be an instrument that was perserved extremely well, and taken out probably a handful of times a year.

Electronics:
Original Pat no/T-top pickups. Original Input jack and Selector switch.  pots date to 39th week of 75'. We believe the original pots and caps went bad and the original owner wanted to replace them with the closest period correct harness they could get. This is very common and they are still gibson pots with almost all original push- back wiring. Neck is butter, bridge is lethal. Electronics were cleaned with contact cleaner and have absolutely no crackling and clearly roll to 10.
