TL:DR One of the cleanest Sg Specials from the 60's you'll ever find, in from its original owner who seldom played this instrument before stowing it away in the late 60's. Its completely original and repair/break free, however it appears the tremelo bar itself is a reproduction, but all the screws and hardware are original including the rest of the maestro vibrato system.

Wow Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you a completely untouched and extremely vibrant Cherry red Gibson Sg Special from 1965. This piece is truly a closet queen with very little wear and the lustrous original cherry finish is quite breath taking, exhibiting almost no lacquer checking and looks practically new. This piece starts off with a solid one piece mahogany body that has dehydrated over time making it extremely resonant and full of sustain. Lathered in a luminous bright cherry red and finished with a nitrocellulose lacquer that still smells brand new and feels amazing. Atop this is all original chrome hardware, expected from a transitional period in 1965 as they moved away from nickel. Every piece of hardware down to the screws are original with the exception of the tremelo bar. The maestro vibrato, works wonderfully and the knobs are all original. The electronics are completely untouched and perfectly preserved. The original p-90s are extremely punchy and articulate and produce a sound that is extremely sonically balanced and pleasing with a tight warm end and biting high end, but is different from humbuckers in the sense that its not an airy, thrashy vibe, but more a meaty punchy and biting sound. The combination of these p-90s, the old dehydrated mahogany and vintage potentiometer and capacitors lead to an amazing tonal that is quite inspiring.

The first thing you feel when you pick this piece up is the neck, Its got a round "c" shaped neck. (0.81" 1st, 0.94" 12th). The neck is absolutely flawless with no visible wear and is quite impressive. Its extremely smooth and feels great to hold as its a skinny neck (1.58" or 9/16") and is very easy to "tame." The original frets are in amazing condition for these 60's sgs with ~0.035" left which will last for years under heavy play. The east indian fretboard is also perfectly preserved, trimmed with an aged white binding that has grown to a white cream. The original nut still has its original finish on the sides and the pearloid dots are perfect. The headstock is in amazing condition and the logo is perfectly preserved, the back of the headstock holding its original double line klusons is also perfect with no problems of any sort.

Condition: Unbelievable collector condition with very few blemishes to speak of. The top is virtually mint with one or two tiny that are practically invisible. The sides and back also have very very few blemishes and the back no buckle rash and 1 swirly. The neck is untouched and flawless, theres no heel or neck repairs and is in unreal condition. The headstock has 2 dings on the side of the headstock face and the top of the peghead has a small ding. Otherwise this thing is virtually mint.

Electronics:
Completely Original and untouched 1965 circuit with untouched solder joints, never molested. Pots date to the 1965, the week is not visible. Pickups are the original punchy P-90's
